Most organizations today have embraced cloud infrastructure to some extent. Having part of the IT infrastructure in a public cloud and part on premise is generally refereed to as Hybrid IT infrastructure. On premise IT infrastructure is also referred to as private cloud . Private cloud is generally owned , operated and used by one entity (organization) . Public cloud is shared infrastructure used by more than one company. Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Amazon AWS are few examples of public clouds. Depending on the nature and the scale of the business there are advantages as well as disadvantages of a Hybrid IT infrastructure. Internet speed , application compatibility , accessibility are some of the factors determining what percentage of the IT infrastructure will be in the cloud and what percentage will be on premise.
